Fire Note Says: Elsinore makes their lengthy studio time payoff with their excellent Yes Yes Yes!
Album Review:
Take your time until you get it right was the motto of Champaign, IL band Elsinore working on their third album Yes Yes Yes, that was recorded over two years and had around a thousand studio hours logged. The result is the groups most complex record to date that builds dynamic soundscapes and showcases the bands growing confidence. Elsinore's earlier recordings had more of a one-dimensional indie folk approach, where Yes Yes Yes expands the groups arrangements and creates song space and structures with keyboards, electric guitars, horns and strings. This combined with the crooning falsetto of lead singer Ryan Groff gives Elsinore a completely different sound for the better and should create an entire new legion of fans for them. Upbeat tempo tracks like "Landlocked" and the sing-a-long clapper title track paired with thoughtful soaring ballads such as "Gasoline" and "Breathing Light" gives Yes Yes Yes a nice balance and shows the groups wide range. Elsinore proves that time in the studio can really pay off and have released a solid entry into the indie pop scene with Yes Yes Yes that is energetic, memorable and a plain fun listen!
