Travels In Lowland
Fire Drill Review:
In my book, it is hard to go wrong mixing a psychedelic folk undertone with nicely constructed pop songs if you do it right. Well, Danish band The Migrant get it right on their self-released debut Travels In Lowland. The songs found here are driven from founder Bjarke Bendtsen and his several years of traveling around the states with his guitar and suitcase. His dominant vocals are the reason to come to the party here, while harmonizing backing vocals and a handful of instruments like guitar, violin, drums and special kitchenware, will be the reason to stay. The Migrant gives you a solid 42 minutes of catchiness, that has such a honest approach to it, that the record will instantly grab your attention and can easily be appreciated. It is a stellar find in the mass of music out there and should be a band to tell all your friends about!
