Fire Note Says: Come get lost with Atlanta's Abby Gogo!
Album Review:
Atlanta band Abby Gogo bring you their style of psychedelic garage, which combines both elements of shoegaze and 60's pop rock that together creates a unique vision on their self-titled debut. The band really does sound as you might expect with distortion, deep groves and depth
but what separates them out is how they are very focused on each of the compositions components and have the ability to meticulously pull them to the surface. This can either be the forefront vocals on the opening, just over two minute, track "Louder Than Dreams" or the sprawling feedback on the six minute "Glass". You hear what Abby Gogo wants you to hear and that is the real success of their debut, as it pulls you into their world. The band clearly is still young and evolving, as some of the longer tracks could have a better flow and honestly two of my favorites on the record, are the two shortest tracks. Abby Gogo have the right swagger to make a killer record and they display all the right tools here on their debut, which is not perfect but still is a pretty good listen!Key Tracks: "Louder Than Dreams", "Feelin' Slow", "Glass"
