Fire Note Says: Lo-fi band Graham Repulski make it all work together on their sophomore effort Electric Worrier!
Album Review:
If you have been missing a good lo-fi noise pop filled record these days then look no further than New Jersey hipsters Graham Repulski, as their 12 track, 20 minute sophomore record Electric Worrier will easily fill your void. The album covers a lot of ground in mostly under 2 minute bursts from the blaring noises on opening track "Warm Vibrations" to the top of your lungs sing a long on the very lo-fi "Crab Feast", while the quiet simplicity on "Come On, Ancient Cloud" and closing track "Miscellaneous Man Landscapes" will keep you coming back for more. It won't surprise anybody to find out that Circus Devil and Robert Pollard collaborater Todd Tobias mastered the record because this style falls into his strengths and Graham Repulski bring many of the same art meets noise philosophies to the table. With vocals like Chris Knox and song structures that mirror early GBV ep's, Graham Repulski provide plenty of likable diversity that with repeat listens all starts to fit together and lets you find the short but sweet melodies hidden within!
Key Tracks: "Come On, Ancient Cloud", "Crab Feast", "Miscellaneous Man Landscapes"
