Fire Note Says: Dallas based The O's bring you their style of neo-folk that will most certainly entertain!
Album Review:
The O's Taylor Young says that the band sweats too much for a folk band, drinks too much for a pop band and rocks too much for a country band. Not sure what that leaves but with the combination of Y
oung's guitar strumming, John Pedigo's banjo picking and plenty of harmonizing vocals you get a very neo-folk based sophomore record that has sincerity, solid musicianship and most of all - has a good time. Produced by Grammy Award winning Stuart Sikes (Loretta Lynn, The White Stripes, Cat Power) The O's not only have a youthful sway to them but many times are able to dig down to their Everly Brothers, Elvis and Hank roots on good ol' tracks like "Tennessee Coalminer". For the most part though, Between The Two stays upbeat with the duo just cranking on their traditional instruments such as the free strolling "We'll Go Walkin" or the feel good heart warmer "Sunshine". Between The Two works because it never tries too hard to be good, as Young and Pedigo showcase their accomplished musical talents and keep the flow here to a perfect pace while creating plenty of memorable little tracks that you will be humming along with well after their completion!Key Tracks: "We'll Go Walkin", "In Numbers We Survive", "Sunshine"
