Parts & Labor: Constant Future

Fire Note Says: Parts & Labor provide grandiose memorable melodies till the end!

Album Review:
I thought on this for quite awhile but I could not come up with another so-called "noise" band that can hit catchy melodies like Brooklyn's Parts & Labor. On their new long player Constant Future, the band sticks to their guns and gives you plenty of spiraling keyboards, big beating drums and the combo sonic vocals of Dan Friel and B.J. Warshaw. Each track has an upbeat pitch to it with complex yet intricate song structures but what really pulls you in is Parts & Labor's ability to harmonize and create perfect "rock out" moments that allow the listener to chime in. This creates plenty of anthem like moments, as the choruses become grandiose and Parts & Labor shift the vocal focus to the front, while the entire track gets pushed by the array of instruments. If you are looking for band progression on Constant Future you might be somewhat disappointed but if you are looking for band maturity, Constant Future will please you over and over. The record contains some of Parts & Labor's most tightly wound songs and even though they can present you with a chaotic background, the band is always in control. Constant Future succeeds on many levels and has a high replay value, especially as the warmer weather nears, because I can completely see rolling the windows down and cranking this album up with its solid chemistry and melodies that just appear and become permanently burnt into your head!
