Sin FangSummer Echoes

Fire Note Says: Witness the continued progression of singer/songwriter Sindri Már Sigfússon on his Sin Fang's sophomore album Summer Echoes.
Album Review:
Icelandic singer/songwriter Sindri Már Sigfússon is one of the most underrated and unknown artists in the hush alt-pop world. His Seabear moniker once was used to share his one man show
to the world but as we heard on last years We Built A Fire, Seabear is a true group now that expanded to seven members. That leaves Sin Fang (he officially dropped the "Bous") to conduct his personal business, so you might have predicted this record might be more subdued but instead Summer Echoes is expansive, swirling and even somewhat shoegazing in places. Possibly influenced and even motivated by last years Seabear effort, Summer Echoes switches gears a bit from the more pop oriented Advent In Ives Garden [2009]. One key point though is that Sigfússon never forgets how to create a melody, regardless of the moniker, as they shine through and through the sound aurora on Summer Echoes. It is a record that has very smooth transitions and demands that you listen all the way through to absorb its full impact. It once again places Sigfússon in the upper echelon of this genre and makes Sin Fang's Summer Echoes better every time you spin it!Key Tracks: "Because Of The Blood", "Always Everything", "Nothings"
