Fire Note Says: Americana singer/songwriter Israel Nash Gripka is a new voice you need to hear now!
Album Review:
We introduced you to Americana singer/songwriter Israel Nash Gripka back in 2009 supporting his excellent debut record New York Town. Well - we are going to tell you about him again because his newly released sophomore record, Barn Doors And Concrete Floors is even better! Cultivating all the best qualities of a Ryan Adams, John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen, Gripka presents a very honest and sincere rooted record that was recorded in an old barn nestled deep
in the Catskill Mountains. Gripka took this focused idea of making great music a bit further by also removing all outside environment distractions and pouring everything into the album along with his group of talented musicians and producer/drummer Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). This organic approach offers the listener with very vivid images, as you follow along each track's story. This quality is exactly what makes Israel Nash Gripka so engaging regardless of the songs mood or tempo. You feel his ache, as he desperately sends for help, on "Sunset, Regret" or the upbeat swoon about love in "Red Dress", reminds you of all the good times you have spent with your significant other. The fiery relationship described in "Louisiana" has an upbeat sing-along chorus that instantly pulls you in and on album highlight "Drown", Gripka tells the tale of a life story that is full of hardship but has the subject constantly looking for peace. This album relies on its gripping tales, solid musicianship and tone perfect vocals to make Barn Doors And Concrete Floors superb from beginning to end and highlights Israel Nash Gripka as an Americana artist to seek out immediately!Key Tracks: "Drown", "Fool's Gold", "Louisiana"
