Fire Note Says: Boston power pop band The Bynars bring plenty of catchy tracks on debut.
Album Review:
Hooky, warm and jangly are all good descriptors for the self-titled power pop album from Boston's The Bynars. The band puts forth a fairly light hearted by the numbers approach debut that combines
a sunny side 60's inspired feel with the guitar strength of the alt power pop of the 90's. The Bynars still need to mature in the songwriting category a bit before conquering the airwaves, as several of the tracks here feel too simple and don't challenge you at all. At other times though, The Bynars hit the notes perfect, like on the frantic but cool "Haunted House" and the memorable "Can You Hear It?". The Bynars easily have growth potential and this release has just enough shinning moments that definitely will keep them on our radar as they improve their skills and hopefully get a chance for a sophomore follow up!Key Tracks: "How Does It Feel To Be In Love?", "Haunted House", "Can You Hear It?"
