Big ScaryThe Four Seasons
Self-Released [2011]

Fire Note Says: Australian duo releases promising collection of EP tracks that should be the perfect introduction.
Album Review:
The Four Seasons serves as the perfect preview of Australian band Big Scary, as it collects all four EPs the duo of Tom Iansek and Jo Syme released last year. The record contains many different styles of indie rock th
at goes from the soaring Jeff Buckley sounding track "Hamilton" to the White Stripe like rocker in "All That You've Got". Overall, the record has a much more mid-tempo flavor to it and allows the songs to get embedded in your head. Tracks like "Autumn" and "Thinking About You" are infectious and will have you humming along in no time. Given the fact that these were EP offerings, you would think that The Four Seasons would suffer some in the continuity department but Big Scary pulls it off, as the different styles really fit and their diversity makes the group interesting. The band is currently working on a debut full length due either at the end of 2011 or early 2012 followed by their first US tour, so if you are interested in hearing a promising new act ready to take hold of our college airwaves then Big Scary should be on your radar now!Key Tracks: "Autumn", "Hamilton", "Thinking About You"
