Bomb The Music Industry!
Vacation

Fire Note Says: This could still be your favorite summer album if you hurry!
Album Review:
You may not know that Bomb The Music Industry! is on their sixth album but after checking out Vacation, you will certainly know with your ears. Their now veteran status comes through loud and clear, as the band presents a stylistic indie rock that touches a multitude of genres while reminding you of your favorites from Elvis Costello to Weezer to The Beach Boys to Bad Religion. The band
successfully captures these catchy qualities while still retaining a punk edge with the aide of frontman Jeff Rosenstock's slightly gruff vocals and the bands ability to switch speeds in an instance. Vacation also benefits from its diverse musicianship as Bomb The Music Industry! includes violins, pedal steel, cello, trumpet, farfisa organ and a mandolin that circle and weave around their indie punk song structures. Bomb The Music Industry! also use the element of surprise to keep the listener on their toes, as opening track "Campaign For A Better Weekend" quietly opens with a soft vocal from Rosenstock for its first 3 minutes before just ripping the lid off with a musical explosion. On other tracks, like "The Shit That You Hate", the band builds the intensity from the beginning as the song uses all of its almost 6 minutes to be fully musically realized. Other songs, like the closing "Felt Just Like Vacation" are straight up punk rockers that never ease off the pedal and keep you reminded of the band's roots. Vacation features quality all the way around as the lyrics are memorable, the array of instruments never distract and add depth, and the album contains several guest contributions from members of Fake Problems and Bayside. Bomb The Music Industry! make every spin here worth your time as this is easily one of their best releases to date and most certainly will rock out what is left of your summer!
