Fire Note Says: You say Mariachi really? Fire Note says absolutely yes as Mariachi El Bronx offer a great sophomore outing!

Album Review:
There are tons of sub genres out there so get ready for indie Mariachi because Mariachi El Bronx is totally ready to bring you into the fold with their second LP simply titled II. The group is the alter ego of hardcore punk band The Bronx but you absolutely would not know unless you guessed because of the name or me telling you because musically II is a completely different world. The band gives Mariachi an English context with vocalist Matt Caughthran giving a stellar performance of smooth vocals that stamps the album with a much cooler swagger then you would have ever thought possible. The songs are catchy, fun, laid back and the perfect record to just let play at the party. The album runs from the very traditional sounding tracks, such as the mostly instrumental self titled song to much more complex arrangements like on the excellent and soaring vocal in "Map Of The World". Right from the opening track "48 Roses", Mariachi El Bronx will have you hooked and keep you there for its 44 minute running time as the record will not only be surprisingly appealing but I guarantee you have never heard Mariachi like this and not only will it instantly engage your ear - you will will go for the repeat button almost immediately after its over!

Key Tracks: "48 Roses", "Revolution Girls", "Map Of The World"
