Fire Note Says: Rogue Wave frontman Zach Rogue ventures out on his own with a very simplistic indie pop oriented record!

Album Review:
I still enjoy the first two Rogue Wave records, so the thought of front man Zach Rogue going back to the basics and creating a more simple and acoustic based album were very appealing. His new side project Release The Sunbird is a back to the drawing board type of record and visits the catchy indie pop that Zach released early in his career with the addition of Kate Long helping out on background vocals. This female presence gives Release The Sunbird its own unique identity as there are plenty of engaging tracks like the bouncy "Running Away From Me" and the more explosive opener "It's All Around You". Like any record of this nature Come Back To Us does suffer some from similar sounding songs as several are hard to differentiate from each other. The overall final product still works really well for Zach and Release The Sunbird shows so much promise on this debut I can't see any reason why Rogue Wave should not take some lessons for their next record or just leave it up to Release The Sunbird to save Zach's indie rock soul!
