WATERSOut In The Light
TBD Records [2011]

Fire Note Says: A nice guitar driven indie rock debut from WATERS.
Album Review:
It seems lately that the indie genre has been leaning more towards the rock side of things with the new crop of bands coming onto the scene and WATERS fits that bill. This may be a surprise if
you are familiar with lead singer Van Pierszalowski, as his last band Port O'Brien played a much mellower lo-fi pop but here on WATERS debut, Out In The Light, the band brings thundering drums, soaring melodies and plenty of lead grungy guitars. The best part about Out In The Light is that the "rock out" moments are very controlled in the way Pierszalowski carries a mid-tempo pace until the big soaring choruses kick in on tracks like "Take Me Out To The Coast" or how the guitars simmer with power on "O Holy Break Of Day". WATERS may not be offering anything new on Out Of The Light but there is always something to be said for quality and this debut is not only catchy but has a timeless appeal that stands up to repeat plays and only gets better.Key Tracks: "For The One", "Take Me Out To The Coast", "Out In The Light"
