Fire Note Says: If you don't have it already this version will work just fine!

Album Review:
Ziggy Stardust is 40 years old and it is not only considered one of Bowie's best but also one of the best albums of all time. This record of course has been reissued many times with new remasters and bonus material so you should ask yourself what is different this time around?  Well, the 40th anniversary edition features the remastered version of the album by Ray Staff who engineered the original album at Trident Studios.

The record comes out sounding great but honestly is it better than the 30th anniversary edition or the 1990 Rykodisc release? I can tell you that the 90's version of this record held its own against this remaster. I can also tell you that this edition does not include any extras like a second disc or bonus tracks. If this sort of thing matters then you will want to avoid this edition. If you need a copy of this album the 40th Anniversary Edition will work great and honestly you should go all out and get the limited edition 180-gram vinyl version which also features a bonus DVD with the 5.1 stereo mixes from 2003.

At the end of the day if you already have a version of this album you won't need this CD unless you are a hardcore collector. If you are new to the Bowie party you should have this record in your collection so if you like CDs - snag it. It should be noted that if I was simply rating on the music alone here I would have easily given this 5 out of 5 so don't mistake the lower rating on the art itself because Ziggy Stardust is truly a classic!

Key Tracks: "Starman", "Suffragette City", "Star"
